Report: USPS Had Really Bad Spring 2020

The Washington Post reports the U.S. Postal Service had a really bad spring, even before the arguments over voting by mail reached their height. “The documents, which mostly span March and April, depict an agency in distress,” according to documents obtained by the newspaper. The problems include its finances, its business relationship with Amazon and of course the coronavirus pandemic.

The paper also reports that at one point, the USPS, working with HHS, planned to deliver 5 face masks to every American household. “The White House nixed the plan,” says the Post.

  1. As postal customer and a philatelist I could not help but notice the serious lag in mail delivery and USPO service. At first I thought is it only me but others have made simular observations. Will Washington allow the Post Ofice to self destruct?

The organization is badly needed Continued mis management will surely end in chaos.

  2. It’s a pretty scary time for the USPS to be in a shaky state. It wouldn’t be good anytime, but especially now during a pandemic many are relying on the post office to deliver groceries to medicine and everything else that can be bought online to limit going to public places.
