Updated July 11th: The Scott catalogue editors have decided to assign just one number to all formats of this stamp, RW85.
I am very happy to have this information so early.
Unfortunitly, Mr Bessette will not have the full panes for these. You’ll have to get from KC MO.
Will collectors be able to purchase a single PSA stamp from the pane of 20? I understand this sort of takes the place of the gum version issued in the past but because of a continual shortage of security paper this PSA pane was issued. Many of us usually collect a gum single, a dollar bill PSA single and silk cachet as well as anniversary issues.
Albert, IF a post office has a pane of 20, they can sell a single stamp from it. However, a pane of 20 is $500 in inventory, so most post offices are likely to opt for the panes of 1 stamp. But if you can find one with a pane of 20, go for it.
I believe the U.S. Department of the Interior is not being fair to us collectors by issuing the $100 85th Anniversary Commemorative Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation souvenir sheet of 4 stamps. They seem to try to justify the cost by including a block of 4 $25 stamps. An anniversary is supposed to be something to celebrate, not leaving their loyal customers with a bad feeling or unable to afford. They are issuing 12,400 sheets. Why so many when they know they will sell less than 3000? In the past, we collectors buy(donate) $25 for WAG, $25 for PSA and many $35 for silk FDC, now on top of that they are adding $100. The $50 price of the 75th anniversary was fair and a nice-looking product, this one looks just like a money grabbing product and not worthy of its long tradition. And why issue an 85th year? In the past they issued a 25th, a 50th and a 75th which are normal milestones.
They have a single available as well on a SS sheet.
Why is there no information on the Jr Duck stamp, it is the only WAG stamp this year.
