Updated March 3rd: The USPS Postal Store shows the first-day as April 1st. The illustrations of FDCs conform to that date.

Updated February 20th: The USPS is still trying to lock down the event in Washington. Can’t confirm Greeting Card Association winter meeting (my question).

FromMeToYouFrom Me To You (1 design + stickers)
April is National Card & Letter Writing Month. The panes of 20 stamps includes 12 stickers, and the USPS information also refers to “decals.” The artist is Michael Osborne of San Francisco, who also did Love: Candy Hearts, Chacón “Madonna and Child, Our Wedding, Patriotic Banner (Presorted Standard), Presorted First-Class Spectrum Eagle, Yes, I Do, and Where Dream Blossom.

[December 23rd] These stamps will probably be issued in late March, but the exact date and city are not yet known. The Greeting Card Association, which pushed for the butterfly greeting card stamps, holds its Winter Meeting March 18-19 at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, D.C. “Join fellow GCA members and leaders in the postal community for the first business meeting of the year. This year’s meeting will provide strong programming, addressing high-level postal and legislative issues.” Nothing on the agenda yet about stamps, but there is a “reception for the postal community” Wednesday evening, March 18th.

The Postal People seemed especially eager to know our opinions of this design, and, of those expressing opinions, none really liked it.

  1. Are you kidding me? This is nonsense – We don’t need this. Don’t we have enough redundant issues without including silliness?
How about an annual Thanksgiving stamp or Memorial Day or Veterans Day?
And that’s from me to you.

    • First, don’t shoot me, I’m only the messenger! I didn’t like it either. The USPS has a good relationship with the greeting card industry (which makes sense) and this is for them.

Second, the USPS tried a Thanksgiving stamp, Sc. 3546, in 2001. It did not sell well. Maybe it was the design, maybe it was because it’s not a greeting-card holiday. We have been getting veterans stamps lately (Medal of Honor), and often issued on either Memorial Day or Veterans Day, or close to ’em (since both are postal holidays).

  2. Is this the April Fools Day stamp? What does it commemorate? (hippies in the Haight-Ashberry) I thought FOREVER stamps were supposed to Reduce the number of issues each year…

  3. The “From Me To You” stamps, Press Sheets and FDCs and Ceremony Program are now posted for pre-sale on the USPS Store’s website. FDOI is apparently Wednesday, April, 1, 2015 in Washington, DC.

  4. I like this stamp just fine. I wondered at first if it might be a Love stamp. Then, when I saw the selvage, I was sure of it. I included it in my Love stamp collection, anyway. The press release says the April 1st issue date is for National Card and Letter Writing month. Go ACE! The design might be considered unispired by some, but I be kids will have fun with the stickers sending letters to their Gramma, and I bet Grandparents everywhere will keep those letters forever!

PS: in regards to an earlier posting, I loved those Thanksgiving stamps too!

  5. This silly stamp doesn’t impress me at all. What I was hoping to see some day again are the “Special Occasion” stamps issued at least twice in years past. They came in a booklet. The thoughts expressed on the stamps were, “Congratulations,” “Get Well,” “Thank You,” “Love You, Mother,” “Love You, Dad,” “Best Wishes,” “Happy Birthday,” and “Keep in Touch.” It would be nice to have them as a FOREVER stamp, so they’ll always be good. They were much more artful than the current stamp.

  6. Where in the world did all these bah humbug folks come from for goodness sake!!! The stamp is great, some of us like a little levity and silliness in our lives. only problem the post office never has them an I don’t put my cc online

  7. This ended up being my favorite stamp and the messages included are great!!!!
    I want more:)

  8. I hope this stamp will come back out. I am using it when I sent gifts for people gave a referral who then bought from me. So you see it is my way of saying thank you along with the gift being sent. All inclusive. Love these stamps and that is from me to you, lol.

  9. Love the me to you stamps, use them on special occasions for family and special friends . They loved receiving them. Please bring them back

  10. Love this stamp too. Love putting it on birthday cards and any notes just sent just to say hello. Wish the post office still had it, or I could find this stamp at a reasonable price somewhere else. Prices on the secondary market are crazy for this stamp!

  11. My college-aged daughter LOVES these stamps… her friends enjoy them as well. Hoping they come back!
