From the Postal Bulletin:
On August 16, 2025, in Schaumburg, IL, the United States Postal Service® will issue the Luna Moth stamp (Non-denominated, priced at the Non-machineable Surcharge rate) in one design, in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of 20 stamps (Item 124300). This stamp will go on sale nationwide August 16, 2025, and must not be sold or canceled before the first-day-of-issue.

A pale green luna moth graces the latest non-machineable stamp for use on irregularly-sized envelopes, such as square greeting cards, invitations, or announcements. The stamp art was created using a high-resolution scanner with extended focus, which captured multiple layers of the preserved moth individually to ensure that all parts appeared in sharp focus. The final image was a composite of these images. Noted for their lovely green coloring and larger than average size, luna moths (Actias luna) are among the most beautiful moths in the United States. Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamp with an existing image by Joseph Scheer.

No automatic distribution.

  1. I am a new cachet artist, this stamp will be my first FDC. Thank you for providing this, I found your info from my new membership in the AFDCS. Question: Is the address posted here also the place to pre-order stamps? or is that where to send to get the first day cancel?, And another question: will they provide the cancel service at the Schaumburg show? Thanks again for your website.

    • No, the mailing address shown here is only for servicing FDCs. You should order the stamps from the USPS.com website (Shop/Stamps in the dropdown menu system). Yes, the “rubber” first-day postmark should be available at Great American Stamp Show 2025 in Schaumburg on the first-day. My guess is that that will be the “FIRST DAY OF ISSUE” B&W postmark; if a Digital Color Postmark is offered for this issue, chances are it will not be available at the show (except on pre-serviced uncacheted envelopes). However, there should also be at least two “show postmarks” for that day, one for “GASS” and the other for “Americover,” the AFDCS portion of the show.
