No News May Be Good News

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

We thought we would have details by now about what stamps the U-S Postal Service will
be issuing next year. We had the usual meeting between the Postal People and the
press.... but after getting more details about some of THIS year's upcoming stamps, we
were told the 20-14 program isn't ready. "We want to make sure it's right," we were
told.

Of course, we were disappointed. But, on the other hand, I'd rather get details of the
program all at once, and not in dribs and drabs the way it was this year. We're still
awaiting information and even DESIGNS for some of THIS year's stamps!

And we do already know some of next year's subjects: There will be a Lunar New Year
stamp for the Year of the Horse. There will be two stamps for the fourth year of the
Civil War, and one for the War of 18-12.

There certainly will be another stamp in the Black Heritage series, and more Musical
Icons will be honored. There's likely to be a new religious Christmas stamp, and four
secular designs as well.
