US Scott 6098 is listed as American Bison by most sellers on Ebay, is there a stamp for 6097? One was not listed on Ebay but subsequent stamps following 6098 were listed.
The Scott catalogue people do not assign numbers until they have the stamps in hand. Since American Bison has not yet been issued (May 25th), any dealers assigning the issue a number are making guesses. The day before American Bison is released is the first-day of the mystery “Encore” issue, which may be one face-different stamp or several. Scott may assign one number to each stamp (as it did for the Love stamps, Sc. 6046-6049) or may assign one number for the issue and give each design a lowercase letter, as it did for Figures of the American Revolution (Sc. 6068, a through y). The Virtual Stamp Club doesn’t post numbers until Scott announces them.
