For love or money?

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

Why do YOU go to a stamp show? For some, it's the chance
to buy stamps from a variety of dealers. Others go to
meet friends. And at some of the bigger shows, it's
attractions like the exhibits, youth areas, and seminars.

The U-S Postal Service and American Stamp Dealers
Association are asking the American Philatelic Society
to participate in their annual June show in Anaheim,
California, which hasn't been doing well. The A-P-S may
handle exhibits, the youth area and seminars for the
so-called "Mega-Event."

Many shows are free, but look for discount coupons or free
passes, often given by dealers to their favorite customers.
You can find show listings in the weekly stamp newspapers
or on the web. One place is www.delphi.com/stamps

Sales of Britain's Princess Diana stamps are reported to
be brisk. The first Princess Diana memorial stamps,
issued by Nevis just after her death, are now sold out...
in less than six months.

And that's stamp collecting.
