The U-S Postal Service is now offering two digital products to aid stamp collectors. One
is an e-book, the other, a smartphone app.
“You use the StampApp when you’re out at a convention, to see a particular stamp, to
look a particular stamp, find the information about it.” RUNS :07
Neil Levin is a partner in Powers Media, which developed the app. He says collectors can
record that they have or want to obtain a particular stamp.
“You can export the information in the form of an Excel file or a text file or XML. You
can also tweet about it or put it up on Facebook.” RUNS :07
Levin says there were some challenges in developing the app.
“One would think that all the illustrations and the photos … some things” RUNS :08
The price for the app is ten dollars.
“The apps are available in the App Stores on the Apple world, and at the Google PlayStore
for Android.” RUNS :07
Search for “stamp app,” all one word. It will be updated every year.
This year, for the app, we’re going to give away the first set of new values that come
out this fall for free.” RUNS :05
Levin says future updates will cost about 7 dollars.
