Hit And Miss

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

A woman was arrested recently in New York City, for allegedly trying to arrange for the
murder of her husband after an argument over money. The idea was that her husband would
be run over by a car as he crossed the street. Police say the price was ten thousand
dollars.

Short of cash, she supposedly offered a collection of German stamps worth 60-thousand
dollars and some jewelry.

The collection might actually be worth that much: The suspect and her husband are former
members of an exclusive stamp collectors club.

The press is having a field day, with the usual awful puns about violent stamp collectors.
But members of that club are also laughing about it.

One member suggested the real crime here was under-valuing the collection.

According to the press reports, the intermediary the woman asked to help arrange the
hit-and-run accident instead went to the police. Perhaps she should have contacted Keller,
the fictional stamp-collecting hit man.

Then maybe she wouldn't find herself in such a "sticky" situation... for allegedly trying
to "cancel" her husband.
