Pride and Passion

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

It's been several months since life-long stamp collector Janet Klug was named to the 
Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee, the panel that makes suggestions to the U-S Postal 
Service about stamp designs and subjects. She's since attended her first meeting.

"I think the biggest surprise is that everybody on that committee is so passionate about 
stamps. You really get into the subjects, and they fight for what it is that they really 
want." :10

Klug is a past president of the nation's biggest stamp collecting organization, and a 
prolific writer. She feels she brings to the Committee--

"--a fresh perspective, from somebody who's been collecting worldwide for a very long time, 
since I was six years old."  :07

LdeV: "Now you're working 3 years ahead?"

"Oh, easily, 3-4 years ahead."

LdeV: "So we're not going to see any of the Janet Klug Stamps until 2013?"

"That's just about it, yeah, that's correct."    :12

But Klug says she DOES have ideas for some stamp subjects....later this decade.
