A spokeswoman tells The Virtual Stamp Club that Canada in 2021 issued a <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/?p=11422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retrospective<\/a> of the entire 2009 to 2020 Lunar New Year Series. &#8220;That release was the final issue from the collection that began in 1997, each year featuring beautiful and intricate designs created <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/can_tigeryear.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13322\" src=\"http:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/can_tigeryear-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/can_tigeryear-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/can_tigeryear-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/can_tigeryear.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>and designed by talented artists and designers,&#8221; said Eunice Machuhi in response to an email from The VSC. &#8220;As a result there will not be a third issue in 2022.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s 2010 Year of the Tiger stamp is shown here. For the last series, CPC issued both &#8220;Permanent&#8221; domestic-rate and an International-rate stamps. <a href=\"http:\/\/virtualstampclub.com\/lloydblog\/?p=11422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Last year&#8217;s retrospective<\/a> consisted of all 24 designs, with the domestic designs in two different denominations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Stamp Advisory Committee makes every effort to establish a balanced annual stamp program that reflects the many varied aspects of our nation, but there are only a limited number of subjects that can be accommodated each year,&#8221; Machuhi adds. &#8220;The final decisions are always difficult ones, even though so many are worthy of commemoration on our stamps.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She ended the email by pointing out that the 2023 stamp programme will be announced in November or December of this year, which might indicate the possibility of a third Lunar New Year series beginning then.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canada Post will not be issuing a Year of the Tiger stamp for the 2022 Lunar New Year.
