It's the busy period in U-S stamps.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries

On Monday, the Postal Service issues this year's Looney
Tunes stamps, Sylvester and Tweety, in a ceremony at New
York City's Times Square. By coincidence, a Warner Bros.
store has just opened there. The event includes use of
the big-screen T-V overlooking the square and the
unveiling of a huge billboard of the new stamp.

On Friday, a postal card for Girard College is issued
in Philadelphia.

That same day, voting begins on the subjects for the 1960s
Celebrate the Century stamps. The choices include civil
rights, the Vietnam War, the Moon Landing, Star Trek and
Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

Those stamps will come out a year from now. At the end of
May, however, the 1920s stamps will be issued, and a day
later, a stamp for Wisconsin Statehood.

It's also the height of the spring stamp show season.
Among the major shows next weekend is OKPEX in Oklahoma
City. The Scouts on Stamps Society is meeting during
OKPEX, and Boy Scouts will be able to earn their Stamp
Collecting Merit Badges.

And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
