Gifts for stamp collectors.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

We’re in the gift-buying season. But unless you’ve got that person’s want list AND you’re
an experienced collector yourself, it’s hard to buy a hobby-related gift for someone.
Here, though, are a few one-size-fits-all suggestions for stamp collectors.

One idea is a donation to the American Philatelic Society, the hobby's general organization,
or the American Philatelic Research Library. (“Philatelic” is a fancy adjective for stamp
collecting.) There’s a “donate” button near the top of the website, stamps-dot-org. There are
also other stamp collecting libraries in the U-S that would welcome donations.

You can also help support the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum. Go to
postal-museum-dot-S-I-dot- E-D-U. Near the top is “Support the Museum” The Museum Store also
sells gifts online.

Another possibility would be an eBay gift card. Go to eBay and search for “holiday ebay
gift card.” Or, since many collectors use PayPal for stamp purchases, send a monetary
gift through PayPal.

Subway Stamp Company is offering several stamp-related versions of the Monopoly board game,
called Post-office- opoly. Subway’s website is subway-stamp- dot-com.

And for something truly priceless… you might give a coupon worth “x” number of hours helping
your favorite stamp collector sort and organize the collection.
