A Digital Revolution

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

“I was super-excited when the A-P advisory committee had first contacted me...”
RUNS :05

And 32-year-old Jay Bigalke is still excited to be the new editor of American Philatelist
magazine. It’s the official journal of the biggest stamp collecting organization in the
U-S, which makes it the stamp publication with the largest circulation in North America.
But Bigalke will do more than just the magazine.

“The plan is to try to come up with a social media plan for the American Philatelic
Society, which will involve Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...” RUNS :09

His posts will carry a message.

“Not just about the American Philatelic Society, but promote stamps and stamp collecting
on a much bigger scale.” RUNS :07

There’s a major change in the magazine right away: Its editor won’t live near society
headquarters in Central Pennsylvania.

“The joys of the digital world afford me the ability to V-P-N and work remotely.”
RUNS :06
