The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries

A group of British dealers has been using eBay both in the U-S and U-K to sell damaged,
altered or misidentified stamps at the same prices as perfect copies. Then, when the
customer complained -- IF the customer even realized he or she has been had -- they
switched identities on eBay while bullying the complaining customers.

This cartel of dealers had great feedback ratings.....mostly given to each other through
what's called shill bidding. And if some brave customer actually dared give them a
NEGATIVE review, they hid it and used another identity.

And check out some of those identities! The latest ones pretend to be a young woman named
Mary, complete with a picture...which is also on a Russian dating site. Another has a bio
that reads like a bad Indiana Jones knock-off. And people still bid on these auctions?

The good news is ... not any more. They were all kicked off eBay, thanks to a group of
reputable dealers and collectors in online discussion groups, all of whom put pressure on
the online auction site for more than a year.
