A look ahead

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

Some really interesting stamps are planned for early 2008.

In the United States, the headliner probably is the Frank Sinatra stamp, sometime in May,
and the Take Me Out To The Ballgame stamp is likely to hit a home run. But first, the U-S
starts its second Lunar New Year series, with the Year of the Rat. But you'll have to look
carefully to find the rodent honoree on the Chinese lanterns.

Canada is WINDING UP its Lunar New Year series with the Rat. Actually, its stamp shows the
Mouse Bride, a Chinese folk tale.

You can count on most Asian countries to issue Lunar New Year stamps.

Australia's Christmas Island is issuing a Year of the Rat but the main postal agency is
issuing four signs of the Zodiac -- Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Libra.

Britain kicks off the year with Bond, James Bond:

[James Bond theme, about :04]

It's the centennial of the birth of author Ian Fleming, who created Double-0-7. The stamps
feature the books, however, not the movies.

Israel and the United Nations are issuing stamps in January jointly marking International
Holocaust Remembrance Day.

That's stamp collecting this week. I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
