For the kids.
The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.
The big Washington 2006 stamp show this month will have philatelic rarities on display and
on sale and some of the world's top collectors in attendance. But there will also be a lot
for kids, starting with a huge youth area featuring computers, games, stamps and special
guests.
"We have Postman Pat coming over from Britain, making his first appearance in the United
States. We'll have some Disney characters, on Disney Day."
RUNS :08
Gordon Morison, the show's C-E-O, says admission is just right for kids -- free, and the
experience, priceless.
"It's going to be something that they'll really enjoy, and every parent should bring them,
because they're going to learn about a hobby they can have for a lifetime."
RUNS :07
And there's something else they can have for a lifetime.
"If you want to put the youngster's picture on a postage stamp, the United Nations will be
taking pictures and putting them on a sheet of real postage stamps from the United Nations."
RUNS :11
For adults, too.
And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
I'm Lloyd de Vries, CBS News.
