Canada Gets The Picture

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

PhotoStamps in the U-S are on hold after a nearly-two-month test....and a report says the
Postal Service is unlikely to make them permanent.

But in Canada, not only are personalized stamps produced by the postal agency, the program
there is EXPANDING.

First, by the end of the month, customers will be able to order the stamps online. Second,
says Canada Post spokeswoman Cindy Daoust, the photos and stamp frames are no longer
separate.

"When you get the picture postage now, it's going to be one piece, one stamp."

Daoust said Canada Post had heard from its customers that the personalized stamps were
TOO NICE to use on mail, and another new feature takes care of that.

"You can order a keepsake sheet, which not only gives you your 20 picture postage stamps,
but also a 5"x7" enlargement of your picture postage image."
RUNS :10

As in the U-S, a journalist tried to submit pictures of unsavory public figures, and
Daoust says HER agency caught 'em all.

And that's Stamp Collecting this week.
