Finding the new stamps.

The Stamp Collecting Report, I'm Lloyd de Vries.

The submarines stamps coming out later this month won't be
available in most post offices, nor will the big set of
space stamps this summer. Even stamps that are SUPPOSED to
be in every post office sometimes aren't.

Whether you're a collector of new issues or just someone
who likes to use interesting new stamps on your mail,
there are a few easy solutions.

First, the Postal Service is opening up more and more postal
stores, often a kiosk in a regular post office. These have
most of the new stamp issues, pre-packaged and hanging on
hooks. Ask your window clerk where the nearest one is.

Second, some cities have philatelic windows, which are
supposed to stock all new issues. They're usually listed in
the blue government pages of your telephone direcotry.
However, I've often been disappointed with these.

And third, for a dollar extra, you can buy new stamps by
telephone or on the Internet. The telephone number is
800-Stamp-24. The web address is stamps-online-dot-com.

And that's stamp collecting this week.
