History: In September of 1980, 14 stamp collectors met at Brookshier's Stamp Store on Broadway Street in Knoxville, Tennessee, and formed the Expo City Stamp Club, Knoxville's first organized stamp club. The club name was changed to the Knoxville Stamp Club in the mid 1980s and then to the Knoxville Philatelic Society in the early 1990s. Though today's membership is much less, in the 1980s the club boosted 110 members.
